Ed has been supporting people experiencing homelessness for over 10 years having started volunteering with street outreach services in 2012. He has since worked in numerous outreach teams across London boroughs including Tower Hamlets, City of London, Westminster and pan-London services.

In 2021 Ed was invited to apply for the Freedom of the City of London by Invitation due to “exceptional response to the Covid-19 pandemic”, recognising the work of many partnership organisations who were operating on the frontline during the first lockdown.

Ed has extensive experience working on the streets with people who are using drugs and is disappointed and frustrated at the limited opportunities individuals have to access therapeutic treatment required to address their drug use which is often a barrier to moving away from the streets and building sustained recovery.
